About Us
The idea for the University HR Club (UHRC) was born out of a shared vision among a group of passionate HR individuals who recognized the need for a dedicated platform where students could gain practical experience, develop essential skills, and connect with industry professionals.
Meet our team
  • Dinara Absattarova
    President
I'm a Human Resources and Employment Relations student at UWA, bringing over 10 years of management and entrepreneurial experience.

With values centred on openness, harmony, and well-being, I believe in the power of continuous learning and personal development.

Beyond my professional journey, I find balance through yoga practice and running. I explore new cultures through travel and contributing to community initiatives.
  • Marjorie Tsang
    Vice President
I’m a postgraduate student in Human Resources and Employee Relations. My experience working in HR operations and project management fueled my passion for HR analysis, rewards, and HR information systems. I joined the HR Club to network with industry professionals and gain insights into Australian HR practices, while also providing a platform for our fellow students to do the same.

What I find most inspiring about HR is the opportunity to align company strategy with employee development. By creating a positive workplace, we can increase both employee satisfaction and overall productivity, creating a win-win for everyone involved.

Fun fact: I love gardening! It’s a relaxing way for me to connect with nature and find joy in nurturing plants - just like the care we take to support our colleagues and partners in HR!
  • Josephine Swash
    Marketing - event coordinator
I'm a Business Law and Human Resource student with a passion for learning and constantly growing. I thrive on trying new things, whether it's diving into a complex problem or figuring things out as I go.

Outside of my studies, I love staying active—whether it's through yoga, long walks, or exploring fitness and wellness. I’m always curious about how things work and finding new ways to challenge myself.
  • Victoire Godard
    Marketing Strategy Member
I recently completed my Bachelor of Business at the University of Western Australia, majoring in Business Management and Marketing. My experience includes roles in customer service, barista work, and team coordination, with a strong focus on understanding client needs and effective communication. I joined the HR Club to deepen my knowledge in people management, as I’m interested in the impact of employee experience on organisational success.

I’m passionate about animal welfare and have volunteered at an animal shelter for three years. I also play volleyball for the UWA team for 3 years.
  • Alice Zhao
    Treasurer
I'm a master's student at UWA, majoring in Finance and Accounting. I'm particularly interested in the intersection of finance and human resources, as I believe both elements play vital roles in organizational success.

As the HR Club's treasurer, I'm excited to apply my academic knowledge while gaining practical experience in financial management. I look forward to contributing to our club's growth while learning more about HR practices.

When I'm not studying or working with numbers, I find joy in knitting - though it's currently more of a future retirement goal given my busy schedule!
  • Scarlett Su
    Secretary
As a Master's student with a tax law background and hands-on recruitment & general HR experience, I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of people and strategy. Joining the University HR Club, I’m excited to connect with like-minded people and contribute insights from my experience balancing multiple roles—from managing part-time work and studies to building a 13k-follower creative account from scratch. I have a strong passion for connecting with others and empowering individuals, these interests and advantages lead me to the HR industry. Besides my professional journey, I'm a comic artist who loves turning real-life experiences into engaging stories.
